UTU is Finlands second-largest multidisciplinary university. The UTU team will bring deep expertise in the regulation and improvement of photosynthesis in cyanobacteria, cell immobilization, and solid-state photosynthetic cell factory development, as well as photobioreactor design and operation, and solar chemicals and fuels production.

Nantes U’s laboratory is highly skilled in photobioreactor (PBR) engineering and developing intensified thin-layer PBR systems. This expertise is crucial in S2B for improving the efficiency of microalgae-based production processes, enabling enhanced scalability and performance of bioreactors for industrial applications.   
Nantes U is also skilled in controlling and optimizing light-driven bioreactions, analysing light and mass transfer in reactors, and optimising biological systems through metabolic flux analysis, energy analysis, and biological regulatory modeling, and integrating unit operations for enhanced industrial applications.

Within S2B, Erdyn is leader of communication dissemination and exploitation activitiesERDYN in collaboration with the partner will promote the project to a wide audience and to facilitate its exploitation. Erdyn  will also prepare the roadmap for the final product’s exploitation and economic feasibility study.
